Well, as many of you have probably guessed by now, the next project I'm working on is a Digimon card parody!
This is something people have been asking me for since last year, but it got delayed for obvious reasons. There are a few things I'd like to clarify since this is a different IP:
The rarity system will remain:
Although, as far as I understand (correct me if I'm wrong), Digimon doesn't really have something equivalent to a "Shiny" card. Instead, there are Alternate Arts, which we could consider the closest equivalent. These will be implemented with the same rarity level as a Legendary card.
Pokeyiff already has a very loyal and amazing fanbase, and I'm incredibly grateful for that!
However, with Yiffimon I'm aiming to reach a new audience, so the first set will start with a base roster of 30 cards:
As for Alternate Art cards, we'll figure those out as development progresses.
You may have noticed that the expansion doesn't have a name yet.
That's because I haven't finalized the Digimon lineup for the set. Feel free to leave suggestions in the comments about which Digimon you'd like to see! :3
Once I have a tentative list, I'll announce the expansion's name.
Since I don't even have the complete roster yet, promising a June release would be absolute madness!
The tentative release date is currently late July.
I can confidently say that this expansion will release by late July no matter what.
That said, I want to approach pre-orders as a way of helping fund the project. Having about two months before release gives me room to expand the set if demand is high enough.
If I receive a lot of pre-orders, I may increase the total card count from 30 all the way up to 50 cards.
Not really.
Even if I receive only a single pre-order, the project will still move forward.
However, if interest remains low, I'll likely shift my focus to other IPs, and the chances of a second Yiffimon expansion in the future would be much lower.
I'd say somewhere around mid-June! :3
